MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide an aq. magnetic coating liquid having excellent dispersibility and stability with lapse of time and to provide the magnetic recording medium having excellent magnetic orientability and coating film characteristics by this aq. coating liquid. CONSTITUTION:The recording medium is constituted by having a magnetic recording layer formed by dispersing a magnetic material into a binder on a nonmagnetic base and forming this magnetic recording layer by applying the aq. coating material. The magnetic material is hexagonal barium ferrite which is a ferromagnetic material. The binder is a copolymer emulsion of an acrylic component and at least one components selected from urethane, vinyl chloride and styrene. In addition, the binder contains this acrylic component at 10 to 70% by the total weight of the copolymer components.
