PURPOSE:To provide a Japanese syllabary/Chinese character conversion system whose operability is improved by improving the indicating method of plural Chinese character information and improving the efficiency of a converting operation, when the plural Chinese character information is present as a conversion candidate at the time of converting Japanese reading information into the corresponding Chinese character information. CONSTITUTION:This system is equipped with a Japanese inputting and outputting device 11, dictionary file 13 which stores the Chinese character information, retrieving means 12 which retrieves the Chinese character information from the dictionary file 13, and index guiding means 14 which indicates the Chinese character information to a user by rearranging it in the order of a high using frequency. And also, the system is equipped with an latest usage information guiding means 16 which is provided at the index guiding means 14, and an updating means 15 which updates the dictionary file 13 by changing the latest usage information and the using frequency information. Then, the latest usage Chinese character which frequently appears during a series of a Japanese inputting operation is indicated as the first candidate at first even when the past using frequency is low, and moreover the Chinese character after the second candidate is indicated in the order of the high using frequency at the time of the presence of the candidate. |
