A fifth wheel coupling comprising a pivoted jaw 9 which may be swung across a slot 6 to engage a king pin on a trailer, has the pivot pin 11, Fig. 8, provided with coaxial portions 12, 13 which engage within the support plate and an eccentric portion 14 providing the pivot journal for the jaw. The pin has a hexagonal head portion 19 so that after a long period of operation the pin may be rotated from the Fig. 4 to the Fig. 5 position to compensate for wear. |
