A contact receptacle 1 has resilient arms with two pairs of projections, the distance b between the inner pair 7, 8 being slightly greater than that a between the outer pair 5, 6 so that on insertion of a contact tab 2, say, the outer projections 5, 6 wipe the tab contact surface and only when the tab is fully inserted beyond the projections 5, 6 do the inner projections 7, 8 contact the tab, and then without wiping. When the contact 2 is a printed-circuit board, an aperture is provided in the board to allow the outer projections 5, 6 to close. The inner projections are preferably coated. A link connector (Fig. 5, not shown) comprises several such contact receptacles stamped from one piece of sheet metal. |
