PURPOSE:To suppress the occurrence of elliptical deformation, cracking, etc., on the one end side of a compact to be burned, avoid the shortening of a product effective length after burning and thereby improve the yield of the product. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical compact (A) is formed of a ceramic material so that one end (A1) may be a tapered shape and an engaging part 21 for a hanging and supporting member 2 is then internally fitted in the one end (A1) of the compact (A). The engaging part 21 is brought into contact with the whole inner peripheral surface of the one end (A1). The compact (A) is burned while being hung and supported and the one end (A1) is subsequently removed. |
