A sub-set comprises a body member, means for securing a die at one end of the body member, a flat, elongated flexible punch guide holder adapted to be secured at one end to the body member and having a punch guide accommodating aperture at the other end, a second similar punch guide holder in parallel spaced relationship and a punch guide secured between the members and having apertures in alignment with the apertures in the flexible holders. The body 1 has a raised portion 1b which supports the die 4 and a portion 1a to which are secured a pair of flexible members 8 and 9. The free ends of the members 8 and 9 have apertures to receive reduced diameter portions of a punch guide 10a which passes through a laminated spacer block 10. The punch 13 has a reduced working end 13a and a slotted portion 13b which co-operates with a plate 15 to hold the punch in the guide. The plate 15 has a keyhole slot 15a, 15b through which the punch passes and openings 15c and 15d for clamping bolts. There is a quickly-releasable stripper plate 7 and a stripper spring 14. The parts 7, 8, 9, 10 and 15 are clamped together by bolts 16 and nuts 6. The die 4 has a groove 4a and is held by three plates 17, 17a and 17b, each having an aperture which closely fits the outside diameter of the die. By displacing the plate 17 relative to the other plates the die is locked in position. More than one punch and die pair may be mounted in the unit.</p> |
