PURPOSE:To prevent destaticizing performance from being deteriorated, to eliminate the defective separation of a paper from a photosensitive body, to prolong a maintenance cycle such as the cleaning or the exchange of a separation device and to reduce running cost by executing control so that a current or a voltage supplied to the separation device gets out of a using feasible area even when a printing page or a time when the separation device is used increased. CONSTITUTION:The printing page (or time) for which the separation device is used is counted by a counter 9 and the information thereof is sent to a power source output controller 10. By the controller 10, the current (or voltage) supplied to a separation device 4 from a power source for separation 5 is decided according to a program, which is previously set, based on the information sent from the counter 9. Then, the variable control is executed. Thus, the separation device can be continuously used within the using feasible area. In such a manner, the quantity of positive and negative AC corona discharged from the separation device 4 is variably controlled and the destaticizing quantity of the paper can be kept constant. |
