Mastics or gap-filling adhesives

Compositions used for gap filling in civil engineering works, particularly tunnels and shafts, comprise 26 - 38 pbw epoxy resin (I), 22 - 36 pbw hardener (II) and 30 - 50 pbw of a soft elastic material (III) such as rubber. Pref. (I) is based on bisphenol A and epichlorhydrin and has epoxy equivalent 185. Pref. (II) is polyamine reacted with polybutadiene and chlorsulphonated ethylene. Pref. (III) is synthetic rubber of particle size of 1.0 mm or less. The compositions replace the use of bituminous materials.
