Blood sampling apparatus comprises a tube holder 14 and an evacuated sampling tube 12 having an open end closed by a stopper, the stopper having a thin imperforate diaphragm 28, puncturable by an inner end of a needle 18 secured in holder 14 the diaphragm defining the lower end of a hole 16 at least part of which has a diameter less than that of needle 18 for sealing against the latter. The stopper may have a periphral flange sealing against the edge of the open end of tube 12. The outer end of hole 16 is enlarged at 26 and the outer face of the stopper may be generally concave or convex or flat. |
