The container has two pipes positioned inside it at right angles to the liquid level and entering below the minimum liquid level. One pipe is open at its lower end while the other is closed and serves as a control pipe. The leakage indicate unit is freely rotatable about its axis and typically consists of two semi-circular bent rods or discs displaced laterally to one another and connected by a transverse arm through which runs the unit's axis. The leakage indicator rotates as oil leaks from the container. The amount of leakage is indicated on a scale. |
