<p>Polymers which contain a metallic component are prepared by (A) reacting a compound of formula: where R1 is H or CH3, R2 is alkylene, especially ethylene, propylene or a halo-alkylene group, such as a chloropropylene group, and X is halogen, with a (hydr)oxide of a divalent metal in an inert solvent, and (B) after removing the solvent, copolymerising the metal salt of I or II with not 1 copolymerisable monomer. The copolymers are used as moulding and coating compositions and as adhesives. The products contng. II are flame-proof.</p> |
