[Also in Divisions C2 and C4] Anti-fungal and anti-bacterial compositions contain as active ingredient compounds I (including optical isomers, salts and hydrates thereof) where R, R 1 and R 2 are H or alkyl, X is 0 or NH, n is 0, 1 or 2, Ar is optionally halo-, alkyl, or alkoxy-substituted phenyl, thienyl or halothienyl, Ar' is optionally halo-, alkyl-, alkoxy-, cyano-, nitro- or amino-substitutedphenyl or is α-tetralyl, R' is H, Me or Et and R" is H or Me, provided that: (i) when X is NH, then R is H; (ii) when Ar' is nitro- or amino-phenyl, then X is 0 and n is 0; (iii) when Ar' is α-tetralyl, then X is NH and n is 0; and (iv) when X is 0 and Ar' is Ph or halo-, alkyl-, alkoxy- or cyano-phenyl, then n is 1 or 2.
