PURPOSE:To provide an optical tape large in recording surface per unit storage volume. CONSTITUTION:The optical tape has <=5nm center line average height of at least one side surface and consists of a biaxial oriented polyethylene-2,6- naphthalate or its laminated body which is simultaneously satisfied with undermentioned formulas (1)-(3) and has <=20mum thickness. F5 value in longitudinal direction is >=20kg-wt./mm<2>...(1) Yang's modulus in longitudinal direction is >=600kg-wt./mm<2>...(2) Yang's modulus in traverse direction is >=600kg-wt./ mm<2>...(3).
