KANA/KANJI CONVERTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To give the preference to the most specious homonym at the relevant time point by using the cooccurrence relation stored in a cooccurrence relation dictionary and also using the relation degree between the words that are calculated by a word relation degree calculating means. CONSTITUTION:A KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) converting part 7 converts the character strings received from an input part 1 into a KANJI-KANA sentence via an editing control part 3 based on the information stored in a KANA/KANJI conversion dictionary 9 which stores the correspondence between KANA and KANJI. Then the priority of each candidate is decided based on the information stored in a cooccurrence relation dictionary 11 and the word relation degree obtained by a word relation degree calculating part 13. The decided priority of each word is written into a conversion result memory 5. The part 13 receives two words from the part 7 and retrieves whether a chain of the cooccurrence relation exists between those two word or not based on the information stored in the dictionary 11. Then the part 13 calculates the degree of relation between the words and outputs it to the part 7.
