PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of warpage in the peripheral edge part of a hole and automatically sweeping off a cut piece to parts exclusive of a hollow part by irradiating the wall of a metallic member having the hollow part with a laser beam for cutting and moving the laser beam while injecting an assist gas, thereby boring the wall. CONSTITUTION:The hollow part wall 4 of a clad member 3 having the hollow part 2 is irradiated with the laser beam from a laser head 10 under the injection of the assist gas and the laser beam is moved, by which the wall is bored. The pressure higher than the outside is maintained in the hollow part 2 by the effect of the assist gas and, therefore, the cut piece 13 is blown off to the outside simultaneously with ending of the cutting by turning around of the head 10. The cut piece is thus automatically swept off. The generation of the inadvertent warpage in the peripheral edge part of the hole is prevented. |
