Useful as catalysts for the reaction of a polyisocyanate or a partially blocked polyisocyanate with a hydroxy-containing compound are organotins of the formula R2Sn &lsqbstr& X-R<1>-OH]2 where R is a C1-C8 alkyl or an aryl group, R<1> is a C2-C9 divalent hydrocarbyl group which may contain a hydroxyl substituent, and X is a linking group which may be -S- or -O2C-.
