PURPOSE:To adjust laser power without taking out a circuit board by obtaining information with which laser power is changed via the interface from the outside and controlling laser power based on this information. CONSTITUTION:Information with which laser power is changed is received via the interface 11 from the outside of the optical disk device 10, and this information is stored in the prescribed position of the memory 13 of the CPU 12. And, the driving current control circuit 14 drives the laser diode 25 bay using the driving circuit 32 based on this information in accordance with driving current for writing IW if this information is for writing. Also, If this information is for reading, the driving current control circuit 14 makes the laser diode 25 emit via the driving circuit 31 by driving current for reading IR. |
