A means and method for electrically connecting the electrical system of a load means to the electrical power supply of a lifting means. The disclosed embodiment uses a removable pair of insulating members having contacts which, when affixed to the cargo hook of a helicopter, form bus bar means along the sides of said hook. A sling body member comprising nylon straps has contact means fastened at spaced points so as to contact the bus bars when a load is suspended from the hook by the sling, thus providing electrical continuity between circuitry in the helicopter and the load.
