1284807 Spray burner STEIN SURFACE 26 March 1970 [28 March 1968] 14659/70 Heading F4T In a liquid-fuel burner in combination with one wall of a chamber to be heated, liquid fuel is supplied with atomizing gas or vapour to a nozzle 14 from which it issues as a spray tangentially with respect to a bell-mouthed portion 19 of an opening in the chamber wall, combustion air being supplied via an outlet 2, and tangential feeds 3a which induce swirl. The air forms both a layer 20 which remains close to the bell-mouthed portion 19 and an annular vortex 21. A tube 11 supplies a gaseous fuel from an inlet 10 and preferably ends substantially where the bell-mouthed portion 19 of the opening begins. The burner may be supplied with either hot or cold air. Preferably the spray of atomized liquid fuel is tangential to the median zone of the bell-mouthed portion 19.
|
