<p>Vinyl monomers are polymerized and copolymerized in mass or in the gaseous phase in the presence of a water-soluble polymerization catalyst which is mixed with an inert support material and water in a small amount, such that the resin product varies in consistency from a powder to a moist cake. High yields of polymer is a desirable form are obtained by this process. Further, the support material is completely embedded in the resultant polymer, so that if the catalyst support is a reinforcing agent, in compounds which are reinforced may be obtained by this process.</p> |
