SEALED BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety sealed battery in which the melting failure of a separator or the insulation failure of a electrode plate is not generated when the exposed portion of a current collector and the terminal of the current collector is welded in the sealed battery provided with a group of tab-less structure electrodes.

SOLUTION: The sealed battery includes the group of electrodes with a positive electrode having an active material 2 formed on the surface of the current collector 1 and a negative electrode winded or stacked through a separator 4. One edge of the current collector 1 of the positive electrode or the negative electrode is exposed and the one edge of the exposed current collector 1 is welded to the terminal of the current collector 9, 10. The active material layer 2 formed on the current collector 1 is covered with a heat resistant porous material film 3. The edge of the separator 4 is placed in the same plane or the inside of the edge plane of the heat resistant porous film 3. The heat resistant porous film 3 has a melting point higher than that of the separator 4 and a thermal conductivity lower than that of the current collector 1.
