In a continuous band filter of the type in which a band of filter sheet is carried between two chains or flexible supporting bands attached to the edges of the belt. The two edge supports are brought inwards towards each other to make the filter sheet sag and form a pocket and may be forced downwards at the same time. The pocket depth is controllable so that slow or rapid zones of filtration may be created in which the granular size of product retained by the sheet can be selected as desired. |
