Solution comprises an aqs. solution of an inorganic acid, such as sulphuric or sulphamic acid, and equivalent acid salt e.g. sulphate and is used to dissolve cupric oxide from the metal surface and prevent the formation of additional cuprous oxide and to oxidise cuprous oxide to cupric oxide and thus make the soln. more effective in cleaning the metal. The soln. is stabilised by addition of a carboxylic acid and a glycol, pref. also contg. a chelating agent in the class of the trademarked agents named CHELON when the soln. is used with aluminium-contg. metals. |
