1,2,3-Trisubstituted-cyclopropenylium salts having antibacterial and antiviral activity and prepared either by reaction of a 2,3-disubstituted-cyclopropenone with a trialkyloxonium tetrafluoroborate followed by reaction of the resulting 1-alkoxycyclopropenylium tetrafluoroborate with an amine or by reacton of a 2,3-disubstituted-cyclopropenone with an organo metallic compound followed by treatment of the resulting carbinol with a strong acid.
