摘要 Epoxy compounds are prepared by reacting an olefinically unsaturated compound with an organic hydroperoxide in the liquid phase, in the presence of a catalytic amount of a metal epoxidation catalyst and in the presence of a basic compound. The preferred epoxidation catalysts are compounds of Mo, V, W, Ti and Se, particularly compounds which are initially soluble in the reaction liquid, e.g. carboxylates, carbonyls and chelates. The preferred basic compounds are inorganic and organic compounds of alkali metals and alkaline earth metals, particularly sodium naphthenate, potassium stearate and magnesium carbonate. Specified hydroperoxides include alkyl, cycloalkyl and aralkyl hydroperoxides and ketone peroxides. Specified olefinic reactants include olefines, alcohols, ethers, esters, ketones and organic halides. It is preferred to operate at 50-120 DEG C. in the presence of an organic solvent. Examples relate to the preparation of propylene oxide, cyclohexene oxide and butene epoxide.
