Novel phenolic cpds. of formula (I) A-O-R-O-A (in which A has the formula (II) R1 is a 4-8C tert. alkyl gp.; R2 is a 1-8C alkyl gp.; R is cyclohexylene, -(CH2)n-, where n = 5-12, pref. 6, 10 or 12, or where n1 and n2 independently are 1-6 and the phenylene ring is o- or p-phenylene), are used for stabilisation of synthetic aliphatic and aromatic polyamides, esp. granulates for extrusion to films, fibres and tubes. (i) impart high strength and resistance to discolouration and weakening. |
