1442028 Blasting POLYSIUS AG 17 Sept 1974 [10 Aug 1973] 40373/74 Heading B3D A device for cleaning the blades 1 of a fan 2 comprises a nozzle 3, the inlet terminal of which is connected to a compressed air source and to a storage container for fine-grained material, such as powdered clinker, and the mouth of which is directed towards the blade surfaces to be cleaned. The device can be used while the fan is running and is angularly adjustable by means of a ball mounting for cleaning either the concave or convex sides of the blades. The nozzle may be flat or, as shown, round and is in communication with a concentrically disposed conduit 7 which is connected to a compressed air source and has a tapered mouth 7a surrounded by an annular gap 8a through which the finegrained material is fed from a feeder 8. A magnetic valve may periodically switch on the compressed air supply. A number of fixed nozzles may be mounted for cleaning the blades. |
