<p>A device for detecting and eliminating faulty places in yarns, i.e. thick or thin places in single or double yarn, and esp. places without cover in chenille yarns, has at least one control station, detecting without contact, faults in the strand running through, which exceed a predetermined tolerance, so that there is an immediate or delayed response. The control station puts out a pneumatic signal to a pneumatic amplifier, the output of which is connected to a negator, and this loads a stroking cylinder, the piston rod of which operates a clearer. In a pneumatic circuit for detecting both thick and thin plates in the thread, there are tapings into the main supply behind a pressure regulator and a fine filter, feeding pneumatic signallers to provide the amplified pressure. Both signallers are linked to an amplifier, the output for detecting thick places going to the (X) inlet of an actively operated negator, the outlet (A) of which goes to the (X) inlet of an OR-gate. The (Y) inlet of the latter is connected to the outlet (A) of the thin place detector amplifier, and the outlet of the OR-gate is connected to a passively operated negator linked to the stroking cylinder. Between the outlet (A) of the OR-gate and the (X) inlet of the negator, there is a timer comprising a diode and a choke in parallel with an air bottle (26). Detects the faults in yarns with great consistency at high speeds.</p> |
