摘要

(1) Substd. benzophenone oximes having formula (I) are new: (where R are alkyl, alkenyl and/or alkoxy gps. contg. a total of 4-18C; m is 1, 2 or 3; X are F, Cl and/or Br and n is 1, 2 or 3). Mixts. of (I) and mixts. of (I) in anticonfiguration with their isomers in syn-configuration, i.e. where oxime gp. is in syn-configuration w.r.t. OH gps., are also claimed. (2) A pref. continuous process is also claimed for extracting metals from their aq. solns. by treatment with a soln. of at least one (I) in a water-immiscible solvent, separation of organic from aq. phase and separation of extd. metal. (I) are used esp. for extracting divalent metals, and for selective extn. of metals, e.g. extn. of Cu from Fe-contg. solns. Introduction of halogen, esp. Cl to the non-phenolic part of the 2-hydroxybenzophenone extends stability of metal complexes of their oximes to lower pH, and lengthens service-life of (I) subjected to repeated extn. and stripping cycles.
