<p>In the cable connector tong design, one jaw is rigidly connected with a tong arm and forms with it the fixed tong part, while the other jaw is hinged on the fixed jaw and on the movable tong arm, forming with it the movable tong. A toggle lever connects both parts. Stops limit closing movement between the two parts. The toggle lever rests by its free end on a support in the end of the fixed arm. When the toggle lever reaches its dead centre, it is stopped, and tongs are locked in their closed position by an openable locking device.</p> |
