A flexible coupling for connecting two shafts has one half coupling (1) with a number of equally spaced slots which run into a circular groove. The flexibility is provided by a 'T'-shaped rubber element (11) which fit into the radial slots. The other half of the coupling (2) has an equal number of tongues (5) separated by slots (7). These tongues (5) fit into the spaces between the 'T'-shaped elements (11). The 'T'-shaped elements are retained by a close fitting outer ring. This construction facilitates the assembly and dismantling of the coupling.
