NEW MATERIAL:Antibiotics SF-1902 A2-A5. Properties; neutral, colorless and amorphous powder in A2 and A4, colorless needles in A3 and A5, melting point in ( deg.C), A2, 105-108; A3, 111-114; A4, 102-105; and A5, 113-117; elemental composition [C, H, N, O in wt%] A2 [57.02, 8.35, 10.95, 23.68], A3 [57.73, 8.59, 10.81, 22.87], A4 [59.02, 8.73, 10.34, 21.89] and A5 [59.85, 8.85, 10.30, 21.0]; molecular weight, A2 and A3 are 630 and A4 650, which were determined by the vapor pressure method, and A5 is 683, which was determined by the mass analysis; solubility, all of them are insoluble in water, hard soluble in hexane, and soluble in acetone and benzene. A5 is the compound of formula. USE:Antibiotics. PREPARATION:A bacterium producing SF-1902 A2-A5 that belongs to Streptomyces as FERM-3277 is cultured and theses antibiotics are isolated from the culture medium respectively.
