摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance the storage performance of an air cell during a high temperature, by using an air electrode having received a specified radioactive intensity of radioactive rays and having a reducing power to oxygen. CONSTITUTION:The air cell can be formed by making an air electrode 3 to come in contact with an air feeding hole 2 provided in anode can 1 through an air permeable membrane 8 and also making the air electrode 3 to come in contact with a cathode body 6 made of zinc powder through a separating paper 4 and an electrolyte holding agent 5. And also, this air electrode can be formed by making a co-existing body to be irradiated with gamma-rays having a dope of 1X10<7>-1X10<9>r (roentgen), then by processing the co-existent body into a thin plate shaped material, which is pressed and hermetically attached with a collector 12 made of metal nets; the former co- existing body being obtained by dipping carbon black in the solution of cobalt- phthalocyanine which is a metal chelate compound, and quinoline, and then by molding. Accordingly, the air electrode 3 absorbs oxygen well without chemical binding, so that the reducing power to oxygen is enhanced and a storage performance of the cell during a high temperature can be greatly improved.
