PURPOSE:To reduce the usage of high alloy materials and to improve yields by bisecting a sleeve in its longitudinal direction, joining or parting the split sleeves and assembling them on a roll shaft. CONSTITUTION:A roll barrel part 19 for rolling is formed to a separate body as a sleeve 21 provided with a central roll surface 19a and further tapered roll surfaces 19b, 19b to be formed at both ends. This sleeve 21 is made into split sleeve pieces 27, 28 bisected at the central surface 19a. The split sleeves 27, 28 are made into a joint shape to each other at the split ends and are fixed onto a roll shaft 20 by shrinkage fitting or other. Also, the sleeves 27, 28 are parted from each other at the split ends and are similarly fixed onto the shaft 20. A material that can exhibit abrasion resistance and surface roughening resistance during rolling is used for the sleeve 21. |
