PURPOSE:To shorten an editing time by converting a handwritten document inputted as image data to code data, and outputting it to a document file which can be processed by a document editing function, so that editing can be executed on a word processor. CONSTITUTION:In an image data document displayed on a display terminal 5, the part desired to correct and quote is selected by an image data document selecting means 6. In a character size measuring/dot pattern obtaining means 7, a dot pattern of the selected image data document is obtained, it is compared with a dot pattern in a standard character pattern file in a standard character deciding means 9, and code data to be converted is determined. In a sentence validity checking/correcting means 13, validity of all documents in the converted code data documents is decided and corrected by using a phrase deciding dictionary file 14. In a document file output means 15, the decided and corrected code data document is outputted to a document file 16. |
