PURPOSE:To prevent a transfer sheet from being wastefully used, by a method wherein when a recording information signal is not supplied, pressing of a platen roller is released, and movement of a transfer sheet is stopped. CONSTITUTION:Recording information signals Y, M, C, BK for respective colors are impressed on driving circuits DR through corresponding shift registers SR, and thermal heads 1y, 1m, 1c, 1bk for the respective colors are controlled. Simultaneously, platen roller pressing solenoids for respective colors are controlled by signals according the signals Y, M, C, BK from a gate G9 or the like, and transfer sheets for respective colors and a recording sheet are pressed against the heads 1y, 1m, 1c, 1bk or the like through the platen roller, followed by an integral movement by one-dot amount, thereby performing color recording. When the signals Y, M, C, BK disappear, the corresponding pressing of the platen roller is released, and the transfer sheet released from the integral movement with the recording sheet is stopped. Accordingly, wasteful use of the transfer sheet is prevented, the recording sheet and the transfer sheet slip relatively to each other, and the recording sheet is prevented from being contaminated. |
