PURPOSE: To provide a method and system intended to more properly sieve the suspended matter in a suspension to effect higher accuracy in waste paper recycling. CONSTITUTION: This method for preparing waste paper stock for reuse comprises the following process: first, pulped and cleaned paper stock is fractionated by filtration through a continuously moving mesh belt 25 of a predetermined mesh size which retains substantially all of the fibers of greater than a predetermined length as a 1st suspension fraction and a 2nd suspension fraction comprising the majority of the liquid component of the feed suspension along with small contaminant particles and the remaining fines; these two fractions are then treated separately by bleaching the 1st fraction and recovering the fines from the 2nd fraction, thereafter the fines and the 1st fraction are recombined for further treatment and use. |
