The sliding door has its bottom guiderail below the doorway, and top rail, inside the vehicle, above the doorway. It has two or more rollers, or other guide elements, on the bottom rail, and one on the top one. The bottom roller, nearer to the door's edge which is first swung out, is movable, together with a piece of the bottom rail, across the rail, into the door's closing position. On opening, it is movable back into the vicinity of the rail, and in alignment with the rail.
