<p>2,2'-dibenzothiazolyl disulphide produced from an alkali metal salt of 2-mercaptobenzothiazole by oxidation using chlorine is obtained substantially free from acid by-products if oxidation is carried out under such conditions that the reaction mixture still contains at least 2.5%, by weight, of the alkali metal salt of 2-mercaptobenzothiazole at the end of the reaction.</p> |
