PURPOSE:To decrease the processing time by omitting error correction to a sector whose address information has an error in detecting a sector in advance whose address information has an error in case of reading a recording data just after the recording and applying error correction at each sector. CONSTITUTION:The control is applied not to conduct error correction to the said sector based on a data relating to an address error sector of a memory 11 read to a system control circuit 2 and the information representing an erroneous sector is given to a 2nd flag of the said sector of an optical disk 1. Further, an error correction circuit 9 judges the adequacy of the correction by using a correction check code based on error detection/correction code EDC, ECC given to each sector with respect to the sector recorded with the data after the correction in the correctable range by the system, then gives the signal corresponding thereto to the system control circuit 2 and applies the processings above by the required sector number. The correction to a defective sector not to be recorded is omitted in this way to reduce the processing time.
