PURPOSE:To enable a lightweight, high-accuracy; cathode-ray tube to be measured without any transmission loss of a liquid cooling medium by partitioning the liquid cooling medium and a plastic lens with a glass plate whose thickness is specific. CONSTITUTION:The front panel of the cathode-ray tube 1 is cooled with the liquid cooling medium 8 in the sealed space formed of a metallic frame 5 and a thin glass plate 9 of >=2mm in thickness. A lightweight plastic lens 11 which forms a projection lens is adhered to the front surface of this glass plate 9 with an adhesive 6 and the glass plate 9 serves as a partition to prevent the lens 11 from contacting the medium 8 directly, so that no transmission loss is generated. This constitution makes the projection lens lightweight and eliminates the transmission loss of the liquid cooling medium, so that the cathode-ray tube can be used with high power and high brightness.
