This retaining means replaces the conventional anchorage of natural-stone panels between masonry wall and facade, said conventional anchorage consisting in an anchor being fastened on the masonry wall, in order to secure the natural-stone panel, as a result of a large amount of drilling. This caused relatively large bores in the masonry wall or column and complex adjustment of the securing means. The novel retaining means comprises a plate which is fastened on the masonry wall and on whose outer side there is welded a connection stub, in which there rests the provided anchor which is held in the connection stub by a layer of mortar. The anchor can thus be easily adjusted with regard to the securing bolts which retain the natural-stone panels. By virtue of the short, now free end of the anchor, the wall thickness thereof can be kept thin and can be adapted to the joint width of the natural-stone panels. Milling of the securing point of the natural-stone panels is no longer necessary and a weakening of the panels at this point is thus eliminated.
