PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of an unnecessary black line on a recording image and to obtain the recording image of a high quality by executing an exposure exceeding an area which has been electrostatically charged by a pre- exposure and ending the pre-exposure. CONSTITUTION:When a point A of an electrostatic charge start point rotates more than once and has passed through a position opposed to an electrostatic charge use corotron 6, an electrostatic charge of the surface of a drum 2 is stopped by turning off the electrostatic charge corotron 6 (electrostatic charge stop point D). Subsequently, when a point D has passed through a position opposed to an LED array 3, the LED array 3 is turned off (exposure stop point B), and a pre-exposure is ended. Thereafter, the electrostatic charge of the drum 2 is started (point C) by turning on the electrostatic charge use corotron 6 again, and a recording operation is executed. As for a potential state of the surface of the photosensitive drum 2 at this time, a residual of charge caused by the pre-exposure does not exist, and even if the point B comes to a position of a cleaning blade 10a, no waste toner is drawn. In such a way, it does not occur that an unnecessary black line is generated on a recording image. |
