PURPOSE:To make the transmission error resisting property of a sound coder and decoder stronger by making the resonant band width of a prediction synthesizing filter expandable when a transmission error is detected. CONSTITUTION:An error detector 31 is provided in a decoding section 2 and, when a transmission error is detected, the resonant band width of a prediction synthesizing filter 17 is widened. Since the Q of the filter 17 is lowered and the resonant band width of the filter 17 is made wider when a transmission error is detected, the output sounds are quickly damped and the affecting time of the error is shortened. As a result, more excellent output signals can be obtained. Therefore, a sound coder and decoder having a strong transmission error resisting property can be obtained. |
