PURPOSE:To provide an ocular lens material having transparency and excellent oxygen permeability and heat resistance by using a polymer of an aromatic 4-carboxylic acid 2-anhydride and silicon-containing diamine expressed by the specific formula. CONSTITUTION:A polymer of an aromatic 4-carboxylic acid 2-anhydride and silicon-containing diamine expressed by the formula I is used for an ocular lens material, where (n) indicates an integer of 0-100. When (n) is an integer of 11 or above, the polymer has the tendency inferior in the shape holding property as a lens, and it is not preferable. Bis(4-aminophenyl)methyl trimethyl silane or bis(4-aminophenyl)methyl pentane methyl disiloxane can be used for the silicon-containing diamine, for example. This ocular lens material has transparency and excellent oxygen permeability and heat resistance, and it can be preferably used for an ocular lens and a contact lens, for example. |
