<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the wrong translation of a composite proper noun by checking whether or not a word group including the words equal to the number of characters of an abbreviated word counted from the word set right before a word decided as an abbreviation in a sentence are registered in a batch into a dictionary as a composite proper noun. CONSTITUTION:A main CPU 1 is prepared together with a main memory 2, a CRT 3, a keyboard 4, a translation module 5, and a memory 6 which stores a translation dictionary, the grammar rules, the tree structure conversion rules, etc. The module 5 decides whether the word consulted via a dictionary consulting morpheme analyzing part 11 is equal to an abbreviation or not. If so, it is checked whether a word group including the words equal to the number of characters of an abbreviated word counted from the word set right before the word decided as an abbreviated are registered or not in a batch into a dictionary as a composite proper noun. If so, the relevant information is outputted as the translated words via a translated sentence production part 14. If not, the word group is outputted as it is. Thus it is possible to prevent the output of the wrong translated words to a composite proper noun.</p> |
