PURPOSE:To easily prevent the break of an optical head by opening or fixing the optical head in accordance with the presence or the absence of a disk cartridge. CONSTITUTION:When the disk cartridge is not loaded, a head fixing plate 102 is moved by the energizing force of a spring 113 and is engaged with a projecting part 121 of a lens bobbin block 12. In this state, the block 12 cannot be moved in the direction, in which it is guided by a guide shaft 11, and is fixed. Consequently, unexpected movement of the block is prevented at the time of carrying this recording and reproducing device. When the disk cartridge is loaded to use this device, the fixing plate 102 is moved because a contact face 109 of the head fixing plate 102 is pressed by the cartridge. Thus, fixing teeth 107 of the fixing plate 102 and the projecting part 121 of the lens block 12 are disengaged from each other. |
