Expanded surface roller bottle

A roller bottle is provided which incorporates a greatly increased cell-growth surface area, while at the same time being of simple construction which structure may be formed inexpensively by blow-molding in large quantities using mass production techniques. The above is achieved by imparting to the body of the bottle a pleated or corrugated surface axially or longitudinally of the bottle. The resulting internal surfaces of the pleats provide an approximately 60 to 70 percent increase of active surface area of a conventional roller bottle for cell growth, without the need for any insertable devices or expensive assembly operations.
