PURPOSE: To stop the operation of an elavating/lowering device in an emergency case without pressing the stop key of the elavating/lowering device in an image forming device such as a copying machine, a printer and the like having an elevating/lowering device for adjusting a height. CONSTITUTION: The state of a copying machine 100 (an image forming device main body) is detected and when the change in the state of the copying machine 100 is detected while an elavating/lowering base (an elavating/lowering device) 500 is actuated and the copying machine 100 is raised or lowered, the operation of the elavating/lowering base 500 is immediately stopped irrespective of the operation of a stop key. For example, when the key of an operation panel 650 is pressed down during the operation of the elavating/lowering base 500, or an upper state cassette 102, a lower stage cassette 103, a left door 104 or a front door 105 is opened/closed, or a card is inserted/ejected from a card reader 301, or an original base cover 112 is raised/lowered, the elavating/ lowering base 500 is stopped for the purpose of emergency. |
