<p>The reverse drawing press for a metal billet (5) consists of two fixed (11,13) cross-members and one mobile (3) cross-member, a container (2) with a chamber (20) for the billet, and a shutter (31) for the rear end of the container. The billet is forced by pressure from a power cylinder (12,15) through a tube (4) and out through a hole (13') in an extrusion plate (13). In the event of a billet becoming jammed in the container (2), the shutter is replaced by an extractor (33) which is the same thickness as the shutter but has a central hole (34). When a pressure is applied by the power cylinder the container moves over the tube (4) and the billet is forced into the extractor and aligned holes (36,37) in the cross-member (3) and power cylinder (15) respectively.</p> |
